I enjoyed reading this. Manners are so important if we’re to get along with one another. I miss the days when a man would open the door for me or offer me his seat, a child would offer his/her chair to an older person, and people just seemed a lot more courteous. Since when did consideration for another person become unfashionable?

Elizabeth- I think the erosion of manners and consideration for others has been a slow decline. Partly because of the growth of egocentrism, technological distraction, the failure of good parenting, etc.
